We have been retained by a well-established social enterprise in Kenya to hire a Head of Communications and Brand. They are an African-led, women-led social enterprise that uses technology, smart operations, and logistics to provide low-cost, high-quality meals that improve nutrition and education outcomes for primary school children in Kenya.
They are growing quickly, and their mission is to scale models that prioritise efficient supply chain management and sustainable sourcing, so they can continue lowering the cost of school lunches. They have delivered over 52,000,000 meals since 2012 and are expanding to reach their goal of serving at least 1,000,000 public primary school students in Kenya every day by 2027. Their growth is not only in Kenya. It is also in developing an offering to advice other African Governments on how they can introduce schools feeding programmes and can support other providers through creating a centre of excellence that demonstrates how the Food4Education mode operates.
The role is to establish Food4Education’s reputation and influence as a trusted partner for delivering innovative, sustainable school feeding solutions at scale in Africa and beyond. The post holder will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive communication and brand strategy and will oversee internal and external communications plans. This includes ensuring consistent messaging and brand image, and effective media relations.
They want a strong public relations and corporate communications professional with at least ten years' experience including that gained in a multinational setting. This person will be adept at leading a communications team, and will most likely be Kenyan-rooted with good know-how of the country and its counties as well as have pan-African understanding. The role is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
